Biography

My name is Len Nicholas. I am a musician and a teacher. 

I graduated from “The University of the Arts” (1980) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Music Education. (when I attended, it was called PMA, Philadelphia Musical Academy  and then Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts). I also hold a Master of Science in Applied Technology from Chestnut Hill College. (2001)

As a teacher I taught at Lenape High School from 1980-2022. During my tenure I created and developed curriculum for the Music Technology I and II classes. I have written and rewritten all of the curriculum in the music department. Courses I taught are: Wind Ensemble, Music Technology I/II, Music Theory, Piano Lab and Music Appreciation. I was the Marching band director from 1980-2001. I directed the Jazz band my entire career. I directed the pit orchestra for the school musicals and was the Stage Technical Director, designing the lighting and sound.

As a musician I have played in many different bands. I played in local bands performing at clubs, weddings and at college Fraternity parties. I have performed in local orchestras and Big bands.
